PCS PROUD sends solidarity to Trans Kids deserve better who are once again taking direct action to fight for their rights.

In July, several young trans+ activists occupied the ledge of NHS HQ in London to challenge the ban on puberty blockers as well as the numerous restrictions trans kids experience to get the healthcare they need. Now they are occupying the front of the Department of Education building in London,

Trans Kids Deserve Better!

PCS Proud commends the actions taken by #TransKidsDeserveBetter. As minors of an already vulnerable demographic, they have been at the brunt of vicious reactionary policies against which they have been denied a voice. Denying them a voice means action has become an inevitability as they fight the entirely ideological denial

Statement

The Proud National Committee is disappointed by the recent conduct of the NEC and senior officers of our union.

The recent blog hosted on our union’s website titled “Words for Lesbian Visibility Day 2024” contains inexcusable language that breaches our union’s equality policy as well as conference policy. This blog gatekeeps lesbianism, and implies those with a differing view of the label should utilise a different one.
